What we’re building

Free Software House is a growing home for practical software that makes everyday tasks easier. We’re starting with desktop applications and building from there. PAD, our on-screen macro pad for Windows, is the first product.

More desktop tools will follow. Mobile software is also planned. Each product will have its own page explaining what it does, who it is for and what is ready to use.

What “genuinely free” means

The free software featured here is available to use at no cost. Each product page explains the scope of its free edition, including any limits, so you can decide whether it fits your needs.

For PAD, that means ten editable buttons for reusable text, shortcuts and everyday actions. PAD’s public release is still being prepared; the product page clearly shows that status.

Freeware, with permission to share

Our software is free to use and distributable. You can pass on the official free release to other people. Linking to the product page is the simplest way to help someone find the current version.

Free Software House applications are proprietary, closed-source software. Permission to use and distribute the application does not provide the source code or make it open source.

Use the official release package when sharing our software and keep its accompanying licence and notices with it. Product-specific release information and licence details will be supplied with each public download.

Clear about what’s ready

We describe working features and label planned releases. We won’t present a future platform as an available download. For PAD’s current compatibility, free-edition features and practical limitations, see its product page.
