PAD / FREE WINDOWS MACRO PAD
Turn the text you keep typing and the actions you keep repeating into simple on-screen buttons.
PAD is a small Windows desktop tool that puts your everyday shortcuts within reach. No extra keypad. No coding. Just your own useful buttons, ready when you are.

A SMALL CHANGE TO YOUR WORKING DAY
A macro is simply a saved action, or a sequence of actions. PAD gives it a numbered button so you can see what you want and click it.
Keep a standard acknowledgement, booking reply or regular explanation on a button. Insert it into the message you’re writing, then add the details that make it personal.
Put the keyboard combinations you use most on labelled buttons. Save a familiar shortcut, or combine keys and pauses into a repeatable sequence.
Give a regular application, project folder, document or website its own button. Spend less time looking through menus and more time using the right tool.
THE FREE EDITION
Buttons 0–9 are yours to edit. Change their labels, colours and actions to make a pad that makes sense to you.
Save short phrases or multiline replies. Paste instantly or type at a chosen speed, with no artificial text-length limit.
Combine text, keyboard shortcuts, pauses and opening actions. Move steps up or down in the editor.
Open a local application, document or folder, or visit a website as part of a saved action.
A compact PAD tab opens your buttons. Move it where it suits you, including another monitor, and hide the pad when you’re done.
Check the target window before running a macro. Test text and keys in PAD’s scratch area while setting up.
Add pauses or adjust typing speed. Stop or Escape cancels further actions; it does not undo actions already sent.
FROM REPETITION TO A BUTTON
Open PAD and right-click a numbered button to edit it. An empty button opens the editor when you click it.
Add your text, shortcut or opening action. Name the button and arrange any extra steps in order.
Try text and keys in the scratch area. For real use, click your insertion point, open PAD, check Target and click your button.

Yes. PAD’s free edition has ten editable buttons, numbered 0–9, at no cost. This page describes that free edition. It does not promise unlimited buttons or features from other development editions.
No. PAD is proprietary freeware: free to use and distribute, with its source code kept private. Free Software House develops and maintains the application.
Yes. You can redistribute the official free release. Sharing the link to this product page helps people find the current version. The public package and its accompanying licence will be published at release.
No extra hardware or subscription is required for PAD’s free edition. Its buttons are on your Windows screen and you operate them with your mouse.
PAD can insert reusable text and run action sequences, but you trigger them from visible buttons rather than typed abbreviation rules. It also records keyboard actions inside a dedicated scratch window. It does not record your typing in the background or record mouse movements.
It is designed for ordinary Windows desktop work. Some elevated apps, protected fields, games and remote sessions may reject simulated input. PAD targets a window; you still choose the correct document, browser tab and insertion point. Compatibility will be confirmed with the public release.
Macros and settings are stored locally alongside the portable application. Back up the Data folder. Stored text and exports are plain text, so use a password manager for passwords and payment details.
The current PAD build is for Windows x64. Mobile software is planned for Free Software House, but no Mac, Linux, Android or iOS PAD release has been announced.
